Will Sawicki — Founder & Principal
A career spent in the mechanical detail of mission-critical facilities, now focused entirely on the one problem the AI era can't engineer around: heat and power at the extreme.
We've spent over two decades as mechanical engineers enabling the build and operation of some of the leading data centers in North America. Our edge has always been the same: we know the granular detail — the manifold, the flow rate, the busbar, the displacement when a door opens — where most firms stop at the diagram.
The industry has hit a thermal and power wall. AI workloads have pushed rack densities past 100 kW, and traditional air cooling simply cannot survive there. The grid makes it worse almost everywhere: interconnection takes years, and clients are stuck with a fixed power envelope they can't expand. The whole game is now landing more compute inside the footprint and the megawatts you already have.
That's the work we do as WillBuild. We're a workload-aware construction management and mechanical engineering firm — independent and vendor-neutral — partnering with high-value clients who need zero-fail infrastructure. We don't just design and route coolant or power; we build it — self-performing the construction, installation, and commissioning so the team that engineers the system is the team that installs it. We show you the data before we build, and we guarantee the environment when we're done.
When you work with WillBuild, you work directly with the engineers doing the work — not a call center, not a junior team. Based in New York City, serving Northern Virginia & Mid-Atlantic, New York / New Jersey metro, Texas (Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin), Chicago & the Midwest, Phoenix & the Mountain West, and Silicon Valley & California.

The principles behind the work
Data, not rules of thumb
We don't guess. Every recommendation is backed by CFD, telemetry, and the physics — shown to you upfront, before any capital is committed.
Workload-aware
We bridge code and steel. We translate what your software actually does to the hardware into the mechanical reality that lets it run without throttling.
Failure is not an option
Our clients treat latency and downtime as existential. We engineer for the extreme case, not the average — and we stand behind the environment we build.
Running out of thermal headroom?
Send us your facility and your workload. We'll run the model and show you the honest ceiling — before you commit a dollar.
